I was born and raised in Haiti then moved to the USA as a young man. I had a chance to join the US Army and served for 10 years during which I acquired many skills, a great education and fascinating experiences around the world. Being employed with an energy company for years took me around the world, helping to deploy energy solutions to some of the most unsettling places such as Iraq, Libya, Yemen and other challenging countries such as Burkina Faso, Bangladesh, Myanmar and others. In the last eight years, I have traveled to 65 countries for a combination of work, leisure or to live (in Dubai and Guatemala). My travels have allowed me to see and experience the very best and also the very worst of the world. I have seen how many problems are solved, especially with energy. I have helped countries, utilities, commercial and industrial customers produce, distribute and use energy to power their progress. This darkness problem in Haiti is an easy one to solve. Since the government has not done it and the people who need it can't afford it, we're stepping up to solve it collectively. Zetwal Energy is very proud and capable of spearheading this movement and helping solve the problem.
I was on site in Haiti with the US Army for 4 months after the devastating earthquake in 2010 to help with the recovery efforts. I had been waiting for the opportunity to return to continue making a difference.
I have participated in social economic activities helping people in many countries around the world, feeding and treating the poor, disabled, the blind, the orphans in countries such as Haiti, Zimbabwe, Sierra Leone and others. My life's course has always placed me in the position and presented me with opportunities to serve and help others. That's where I find excitement, self-fulfillment, pride and a sense of significance. This is my mission.
But this is not about me. Klere Haiti is about my fellow countrymen and women and what we can do collectively to help light the nights in Haiti.
I take the challenge from President Preval to heart. This privilege of helping solve the darkness problem in small towns of Haiti is one of the most personally satisfying endeavors of my life. I'm passionate about it. I'm dedicated to it. It's personal.
